Infrared Finance is the flagship application of the upcoming Proof of Liquidity consensus mechanism pioneered by Berachain. The application reimagines liquid staking in the context of the three-token architecture and the unique soulbound elements of BGT. The protocol maximizes value for stakeholders via social aggregation of BGT through its infrastructure-level PoL vaults and iBGT liquid staked derivative.

About the Role:

The Infrared core team is the driving force behind expanding our reach and influence over the multi-billion dollar opportunity of Proof of Liquidity. As a Senior Blockchain Engineer with a focus on MEV (Miner Extractable Value), you will be involved with designing, developing, and implementing blockchain solutions with a specific emphasis on optimizing MEV strategies, block building, and validator infrastructure on Berachain. An ideal candidate may have experience as a builder or searcher with a deep understanding of the dynamics of block reordering, transaction inclusion, and priority gas auction mechanisms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect and implement advanced MEV strategies to enhance the profitability and competitiveness of our validator operations.
• Collaborate with blockchain and backend engineers to develop solutions that integrate MEV strategies into our block building and validator infrastructure.
• Proactively identify and mitigate security risks, implementing best practices in smart contract development and blockchain security.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors to conduct thorough security audits and reviews.
• Stay updated with Berachain’s latest developments, integrating security enhancements and protocol upgrades.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in blockchain development, with a strong focus on MEV.
• Expertise in the Ethereum and/or Cosmos protocol, including in-depth knowledge of consensus mechanisms and validator dynamics.
• Demonstrated experience in identifying and mitigating security vulnerabilities in blockchain applications.
• Familiarity with Ethereum development (Geth, Lido) and security analysis tools.
• Knowledge of cryptographic principles and their application in blockchain technologies, like major EIPs, consensus/execution clients.
• Strong leadership skills and experience in guiding technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience as a MEV researcher or builder.
• Experience with LSD protocols on Ethereum and or/cosmos.
• Advanced proficiency in Solidity and secure smart contract development.
• A successful track record in DeFi engineering.
